Ok, I have it and will be carrying this lovely fine fiber on this web site and in my E-Bay Store until I run out. I'm selling it in one and four ounce lots. I have spun it and it spins up super fine and nice. I spun up an an ounce and ended up with 270+ yards of two ply yarn. Use your yarn to trim a sweater cuff or a collar. Make ear warmers for that special person on your gift list! One ounce will make a lace scarf! It is soft enough to wear next to your skin.
WHAT IS Qiviut?
"Qiviut" is the name for the very fine under-hair of a muskox fleece. Qiviut is reported to be 8 times warmer than sheep's wool and is finer than cashmere. Because musk-ox herds are few in number and are usually very remote and isolated, qivuit production is extremely limited.
I was lucky enough to find a source for this rare fiber in roving form. I love having a fiber that requires no extra prep time and that you can just start in and spin. Remember Qiviut spins very fine and one ounce can make a fichu or a scarf!
